Reading with Kids- let's teach them about diversity

In light of recent events in different cities and including our current home, Miami, we believe it is a great time to read to our kids about different powerful black people. Starting them young and teaching them how we are all different and that is ok, we shouldn't view differences as a threat. Inclusion is of the utmost importance and part of daily life in a city, such as Miami, where we are all from different cultures. We have to teach our kids about acceptance and the beauty in diversity. Here is a great list we have compiled of books that will not only teach them about great black people in history, but how the color of skin is just that, colorBlack women in history.
I am Martin Luther King Jr.
I am Rosa Parks
Happy in our skin
Skin Like Mine
Hope you enjoy reading these books with your kids!
